By God’s Grace, we as Raintree Church Value…
focusing on the bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, completely true and without any error (2
Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21). Because God has spoken, we are accountable to His
Word. Therefore, everything we believe, teach, and do as a church is informed and
instructed by the Bible (Ephesians 2:20, James 1:22-25, John 14:15; 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 2
Timothy 4:13).
engaging in authentic worship
The primary purpose of our existence is to worship (Romans 11:36, 1 Corinthians 10:31,
Revelation 4:11). As a congregation, we engage in worship through the singing, teaching
and preaching of God’s Word, praying by the Spirit’s power, giving financially in our
offering, and serving one another in Christian love (1 Cor 13). Our worship should be
marked by a passionate love of God and resolve to praise and glorify Him in all we do
(Matthew 22:34-40, Colossians 3:16-17).
equipping families
We believe that God has designed and established families according to His Word
(Deuteronomy 6:2-9, 11:18-21; Genesis 18:19; Joshua 24:15). We believe in equipping
and building up healthy, Christ-centered families through small group bible studies as
well as unified worship. As the family grows in Christlikeness, their impact in the
community will grow as well.
encouraging fellowship
We believe the church is a family united by a common faith in Christ. Therefore, we
gather together to continually edify, encourage, and disciple one another. We hold each
other accountable, love each other, and strive for unity as we grow together towards
greater Christlikeness. Scripture makes it clear we cannot be disciples on our own; we
need each other (Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 4:14-16; John 13:34-35; Romans 12:9-13;
Hebrews 10:25).
Praying to the god who hears us
We value prayer because we want to seek God first before we do anything else. We are
here to serve Him and follow Him. As the Spirit leads us in prayer, we humbly ask for
God’s direction, provision and protection as we seek to glorify Him and make disciples of
the nations. (Philippians 4:6-7; Ephesians 6:18; 1 John 5:14)
striving to serve and to share
In service, we want to meet the needs of our community in tangible ways that will reflect
the heart of Jesus to those who need His love (Matt 20:28; Acts 20:35; 1 Peter 4:10-11;
Gal 5:13-14). As we serve our community, we have been given the commission to go
and share the good news that Jesus saves (Matt 28:19-20; Mark 10:45). According to
Scripture, that happens by hearing and believing in the gospel (Rom 10:14-17). If we
won’t tell them, who will?
